Child Sex Trafficking Training: Day One

The Child Advocacy Center is proud to present this two-day training event in conjunction with the National Criminal Justice Training Center. Please note there are two separate days for the training with different objectives. Each day will need to be registered for individually at the link below.

Day One - April 20th, 2020: Child Sex Trafficking for All System/Community Stakeholders Specialized Training
Explore the crime of child sex through an in-depth look at the complex exploitation trafficking victims endure and the pathway to victimization. Learn how the sex trafficking victim presents differently than the child abuse victim. Acquire information regarding the neurobiological impact of trauma on the victim. Explore the system response for victims within special populations. Learn the differences between traditional child abuse interviews and the HRV/CST interview and effective interview techniques.

3:00pm-4:00pm - Survivor Perspective
4:00pm-4:30pm - Facilitated Survivor Discussion
4:30pm-5:00pm - Next Steps, Closing, Evaluations

Upon completion of this training, you will:
• Understand the victim’s path to victimization and how the trafficker exploits and controls through trauma bonding
• Understand the impact of trauma on the victim
• Utilize effective Interview techniques

There is NO FEE to attend this training; however, pre-registration is required. The deadline to register is March 16, 2020. Registrations will still be accepted after this date based on your qualifications to attend and if seats are still available. Tuition, student materials, and instructional costs are provided by the AMBER Alert Training & Technical Assistance Program.
