The Child Advocacy Center is proud to provide training to members of the community on identifying, reporting and preventing child abuse. These training opportunities are scheduled multiple times throughout the year. Please see our event calendar for more information.

Our trainings include:

Overview and Tour of the Child Advocacy Center
This overview and tour of the center is typically 60 minutes long and is provided at no cost. Available on Wednesday mornings.

Child Abuse and Neglect 101: Reporting and Responding to Child Abuse and Neglect
3 hour training; $5.00 per participant at the Child Advocacy Center, $100 per session off-site This training is approved for three CEUs for Mental Health Professionals.

Child Abuse and Neglect 201: Collaboration in Child Abuse and Neglect Investigations
4 hour training, provided at no cost This program meets the criteria of the approved continuing education program for mental health, social work and counseling practice in the state of Nebraska and is approved for 4 CEUs for Social Workers and Licensed Mental Health Professionals. This program meets the criteria for 4 hours towards Nebraska Law Enforcement Continuing Education requirements.

Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children
Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse 2 hours; No charge for training at the Child Advocacy Center, $100 per session off-site This program is approved for 2 contact hours of continuing education by: The National Association of Social Workers (Provider ID #886458319) and The National Board for Certified Counselors (Approval #SP-1139)
